 In 1974, Armin Abraham purchased the Hillcrest Phoenix Co. located in the Cleveland Produce Terminal doing some $300,000 in annual sales. The company was renamed to be Hillcrest Egg and Cheese and continued to distribute from the Produce Terminal until 1987. That year we moved to our current location on
East 40th Street
in
Cleveland
. In the beginning, Hillcrest distributed only cheese & eggs to a variety of family run businesses; however over the years we have evolved to service many different segments of the food service business. In 1993, we became known as Hillcrest Foodservice. We have expanded our facility to accommodate the many segments of business we now handle, including: White Tablecloth Restaurants, School, Day Care Facility, Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Chain and National Accounts, Grocery and C-Stores, Country Clubs. Hillcrest Foodservice has grown over the years including a merger with The Food Company of Solon,
Ohio
in 2001. That year we also completed a new freezer addition adding 20,000 sq. ft. of freezer capacity. Armin still comes to work daily, and with his children they are expanding the already prospering business. |
